Root-cause relief for neck, spine and joint degeneration

Cervical spondylitis and ankylosing spondylitis are driven by aggravated Vata dosha and Ama accumulation in the joints — known as Grivasandhivata in Ayurveda. At Ayurvishwa Healthcare, Dr. Vishwas Ghatge (BAMS · MD Ayurveda) uses Nadi Pariksha to identify the precise imbalance and prescribe personalised Ayurvedic treatment.

Relief for Neck, Spine & Joint Pain

Personalised Ayurvedic treatment for cervical and ankylosing spondylitis designed to reduce stiffness, nerve pain and inflammation while supporting long-term spine health through root-cause diagnosis.

What is Spondylitis?

Spondylitis refers to inflammation and degeneration of the vertebrae — the bones of the spine. Cervical spondylitis affects the neck (cervical) region, causing pain, stiffness and nerve compression. Ankylosing spondylitis is a systemic autoimmune condition that primarily targets the lower spine and sacroiliac joints, causing progressive inflammation and potential spinal fusion.

Both conditions are among the most common causes of chronic back and neck pain in adults, yet are often poorly managed by conventional approaches alone. In Ayurveda, spondylitis is understood as a Vata-dominant disorder with joint-level Ama accumulation — making it highly amenable to root-cause treatment through Nadi Pariksha.

Ayurvishwa Healthcare treats: Cervical spondylitis (neck) · Lumbar spondylitis (lower back) · Thoracic spondylitis · Ankylosing spondylitis · Spondylolisthesis · Cervical radiculopathy with spondylitic changes.

Spondylitis Symptoms

Symptoms vary between cervical spondylitis (neck) and ankylosing spondylitis (spine). The most common presentations seen at Ayurvishwa Healthcare:

Ankylosing spondylitis symptoms

Important: If you experience sudden weakness in arms or legs, loss of bladder or bowel control, or significant balance problems alongside neck pain — seek emergency medical attention before any Ayurvedic consultation.

Types of Spondylitis

Spondylitis in Ayurveda — Grivasandhivata

In Ayurveda, cervical spondylitis is called Grivasandhivata (Griva = neck, Sandhi = joint, Vata = wind dosha). Ankylosing spondylitis corresponds to Asthi-Majja Gata Vata — Vata that has penetrated into bone and marrow tissues.

Both conditions share a common Ayurvedic root: aggravated Vata dosha eroding joint lubrication (Sleshaka Kapha), causing dryness, degeneration and pain. Ama deposited in the joints accelerates this degeneration and blocks proper tissue nutrition.

Root causes in Ayurvedic understanding

Aggravated Vata dosha — excessive cold exposure, irregular diet, stress, overwork, old age and sedentary lifestyle all vitiate Vata and erode joint integrity

Ama accumulation in joints — incompatible diet, compromised Agni and sluggish digestion deposit toxins in Sandhi (joints), blocking nourishment and causing inflammation

Depletion of Asthi and Majja dhatus — bone and marrow tissue become malnourished, weakening the structural integrity of vertebrae

Sandhi Kapha depletion — the natural joint lubricant dries up, leading to friction, grinding and progressive degeneration

Why root-cause treatment matters: Conventional painkillers suppress symptoms but do not arrest degeneration. Ayurvedic treatment through Nadi Pariksha corrects Vata, clears Ama and nourishes Asthi-Majja — creating conditions that slow degeneration and restore joint function.

How Nadi Pariksha Diagnoses Spondylitis

Every spondylitis patient at Ayurvishwa Healthcare begins with Nadi Pariksha — identifying not just Vata imbalance, but the specific sub-dosha involved, the depth of Ama, and the state of Asthi-Majja dhatus.

Ayurvedic Spondylitis Treatment at Ayurvishwa Healthcare

Treatment for both cervical spondylitis and ankylosing spondylitis follows a structured sequence — first clearing Ama, then pacifying Vata, then rebuilding Asthi-Majja tissue. Skipping the sequence reduces effectiveness.

Ama pachana (toxin digestion) — clearing joint-level Ama is the first step; until this is done, nourishing medicines will not penetrate the tissues effectively

Vata shamana (Vata pacification) — specific oral medicines targeting the aggravated Vata sub-types identified through Nadi Pariksha

Sandhi brimhana (joint nourishment) — herbs that restore Sleshaka Kapha (joint lubrication) and reduce friction and grinding

Asthi-Majja rasayana — bone and marrow rejuvenation using classical Ayurvedic formulations to strengthen vertebral structure and slow degeneration

Ahara and Vihara guidance — Vata-pacifying diet, posture correction, movement modifications and specific lifestyle practices tailored to your Prakruti

Note: Ayurvishwa Healthcare does not offer Panchakarma. Our approach — Nadi Pariksha diagnosis and personalised oral medicines — addresses the root Vata-Ama pattern and produces lasting results.

The best treatment for cervical spondylitis addresses the root cause — not just the pain. At Ayurvishwa Healthcare, Dr. Vishwas Ghatge uses Nadi Pariksha to identify the specific Vata imbalance and Ama pattern driving the degeneration, and prescribes personalised Ayurvedic medicines to correct it at the source. Results vary by individual.

Ayurvedic treatment for cervical spondylitis (Grivasandhivata) focuses on pacifying aggravated Vata, clearing Ama from the joints, restoring Sandhi Kapha (joint lubrication) and rebuilding Asthi-Majja dhatu health. Treatment is personalised after Nadi Pariksha — identifying the exact Vata sub-type and Ama depth specific to your case.

Ankylosing spondylitis (Asthi-Majja Gata Vata) is treated by addressing deep Vata and Ama in bone and marrow tissues. Nadi Pariksha identifies the specific pattern — treatment follows a sequence of Ama clearance, Vata pacification and Asthi-Majja rasayana to restore joint integrity and reduce systemic inflammation.

Symptoms include neck pain and stiffness, radiating pain into shoulders and arms, numbness or tingling in hands, headaches originating from the neck, restricted neck movement, and a grinding sensation on rotation. In severe cases, balance problems may occur.

Ayurveda addresses spondylitis of the neck by correcting the underlying Vata imbalance and clearing Ama that is accelerating degeneration. Treatment through Nadi Pariksha at Ayurvishwa Healthcare targets root-cause correction. Results depend on stage of degeneration, chronicity and compliance with treatment.

Nadi Pariksha reveals the specific Vata sub-types (Vyana and Prana Vata), the depth of Ama in Asthi-Majja dhatus and the state of joint lubrication. This precision ensures treatment targets your specific spondylitis pattern — not a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Cervical spondylitis is degenerative — affecting the neck vertebrae with wear and tear. Ankylosing spondylitis is autoimmune — causing systemic spinal and sacroiliac joint inflammation. Both are treated at Ayurvishwa Healthcare through different personalised Nadi Pariksha-based protocols.

Mild cervical spondylitis may improve significantly in 2–3 months. Moderate to severe cases typically need 4–9 months. Ankylosing spondylitis, being systemic and chronic, may require 9–18 months of consistent treatment.

Yes. Ayurvishwa Healthcare offers both online and offline appointments. Online consultations are conducted via video call by Dr. Ghatge. Medicines are dispensed from your nearest clinic after consultation.

Yes. Ayurvishwa Healthcare treats cervical (neck), lumbar (lower back), thoracic and ankylosing spondylitis. Each type reflects a different Vata pattern and receives a different personalised treatment protocol after Nadi Pariksha assessment.
