Why Nadi Chikitsa

Nadichikitsa is basically a line of treatment based on a unique ayurvedic diagnostic technique called Nadi parikshan (Pulse Examination). Nadi Parikshan is widely used since 5000 Years for the Diagnosis of tridoshas in the body and coming to conclusion about the disease. Many a times, the treatment which is given to a patient is based on the symptoms of the disorder, which is helpful but give only a temporary relief and has few limitations. In Nadichikitsa, not only symptomatic relief is obtained, but also complete analysis of a patient’s physical, physiological, and psychological condition is done which is useful to eliminate the disease from its roots. In Ayurveda, every disease is categorized on the basis of vata, pitta & kapha (commonly known as doshas) which are the constituents of our body. Any imbalance in these constituents, causes disease which can be easily assessed by Nadiparikshan. That is why a comprehensive as well as preventive treatment can be planned which not only reduces the symptoms but also works to eradicate the root cause of disease.

How Nadi Pariksha is done

Nadi Vaidya (Doctor) feels the Specific Movement i.e. Laya, Speed i.e. Gati and Pattern of Movements in the artery and according to it, he can diagnose changes in human body with reference to tridoshas and sapta dhatus. Nadi Vaidya can diagnose accurate and root cause of the symptoms of the patient and, he can forewarn the patient about potential health risks. Also, he can give the patient an insight on how to optimize health and give him the personalized prognosis about Vyadhi.
